PLANNING THE PERFECT PARTY

Have you ever been invited to an amazing party that inspired you to plan a party of your own? Admittedly, there is a lot of prep work that goes into planning the perfect party.

What happened during the planning stage to make this the perfect party?

  1. INVITES

Make an invitation list.  Invite 20% more than you plan to invite because typically only 70-80% show up for the party. If you have the time and the budget, choose invitations that provide your guests with a sense of your party’s theme. A specially prepared unique invite lends that touch of allure to intrigue your guests that a Facebook invite lacks.

  1. DECIDE ON YOUR THEME

Depending on your party, there are endless themes available. Visit Pinterest for inspiration and allow your imagination to run wild. If you have little ones, they are usually pretty vocal about what theme they would like for their birthday party.

  1. SEND INVITATIONS

Don’t forget to send your invitations. You can check with your friends and family ahead of time on social media or via text to make sure the date will work or to ask them to save the date.

  1. PLAN YOUR MENU

You can keep it simple. Especially, if kids are involved, you will want to keep it easy like pizza or chicken tenders. You may want to build your menu around the theme. Options are endless, but consider how much work is involved for you when you choose your menu. After all, you want to enjoy your party too.

  1. PLAN FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY NEED

If this is a larger or more formal party, you may want to hire bartenders or caterers who prepare the food and clean up afterward. If you book a family entertainment center for your party, they may already have party hosts available in your party package.

  1. PLAN YOUR PLAYLIST

It is a nice touch and sets the mood if you have party music that fits your theme. Set the stage for your party with decorations that go with your theme or add a nice touch like centerpieces and candles.

  1. STOCK AND SET-UP THE BAR

If this is an adult party, stock your bar ahead of time and make sure you have enough ice the day of the event.

  1. NOTIFY THE NEIGHBORS

If the party is at your house, and you do plan to have music and noisy kids outside enjoying the pool or water slides, notify your neighbors ahead of the event.

  1. PLAN YOUR OUTFIT

Since you were vigilant in your party planning, all that there is left to do the day of the party is greet your guests and enjoy your perfect party.
